Image, Attachment, and Signature fields

Modified 4 years ago

There are three types of fields that store data as files: image, attachment, and signature.

Image field

The image field allows you to upload and display an image directly on the form.

In the live form, click Upload Image. Upload an image either from your local drive or from a cloud storage provider after allowing access. The image will be immediately displayed on the form.

Only one image can be added for each field. If you want to change the image, click Replace Image, and choose a new one. Remove the image entirely by clicking the X button that appears when you hover over the image.

Validations

You can restrict the type of image that is uploaded: JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, or TIF. You can also set the maximum size of an image in MBs up to 100 MB. Learn more about all the validations.

Attachment field

The attachment field allows you to upload many types of files to the form.

In the live form, click the Attach File button. Upload a file either from your local drive or from a cloud storage provider after allowing access.

You can attach any number of files to a single attachment field. However, you can only upload a maximum of 10 files in the file picker at a time. To remove a file, hover on the attached file and click the X button.

If the file is a PDF, it can be previewed without needing to download it by clicking on the file icon.

Validations

There are four types of validation rules you can apply.

  1. Restrict the types of files that can be attached. Choose from: JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF, TIF, DOC, DOCX, PDF, PPT, PPTX, XLS, or XLSX.
  2. Set a maximum attachment size up to 100 MB.
  3. Set the maximum number of attachments for a single field.
  4. Set the minimum number of attachments for a single field.

Signature field

The signature field enables you to collect electronic signatures.

In the live form, users can draw their signature either through a touch screen or with the mouse.

Signature values are stored as images and can be viewed in process reports

The signature field can take up to one minute to upload to the form, so you may need to wait before clicking Submit or Approve.

There are no validations for the signature field.
